    LCP 9mm, coming soon.

    You heard it here first.

I haven't heard anything regarding specs, price or timeline, but given Ruger's propensity for making new product announcements outside of the big industry shows (SHOT, NRA, etc), I'm betting we'll see something before year's end.

Now, I wonder if they are sticking with the LCP .380 format, or if they cloned the Kel-Tec PF9 this time? :): [ducks, runs]

It would be great if the kept the same format. I like the feel and ego of the .380 LCP. I am just not a fan of .380, expensive little bugger to practice with. If they do make it, and keep the same basic format I will probably be adding it to the stable.

This is good for me. If everybody moves to the 9mm platform it will mean a lot of quality used LCPs in .380 will be available. Maybe a pocket pistol is in my future.

My wife will need one, she loves her lcp. I would feel better with her having a 9mm, and I hope it stays about the same size. Sweet!

A small pocket Ruger 9mm...that'd be awesome to see! I would definitely be interested if it holds up to those pressures and that type of recoil requirement.

Beretta tried to take their Model 84 / Cheetah in .380acp up to 9mm but were unsuccessful in their attempt...something to do with the frame not being able to stand up to 9mm recoil or something to that effect.

The only true 'pocket' 9mm that I've ever seen are the Rorhbaugh and the Kahr-PM9...both of which are pretty good guns, but rather expensive for my pocketbook.

I like this. I could easily pick up a used current gen LCP, or I could go for the slightly more affordable, more lethal 9mm. Hopefully they will retain the same platform.

It's hard imagine it fitting in the same dimensional platform as the P3AT... er, I mean LCP. I'm kinda thinking it will be in the PF9 size.

    Could be interesting!

Sounds like a good idea. There definitely is a niche for it. However, I will stick to the Ruger LCP .380 as my deep carry gun. I can't imagine the 9mm lcp being exactly the same specs as the .380 lcp, and if it was, it would be almost impossible to handle. No?

Considering the Microtech Archangel, I retract my statement.
