I wonder how many "takes" before they got this shot?

Stump Pass on the west coast of Florida just south of Manasota Key in Englewood. Bring multiple rods and extra line for when you get spooled...

I found it on the map. That almost looks like a place where you can fish from shore? I was thinking of getting a guide with a boat.

Boca Grande Pass on the west coast. You will not regret it.

I've read about Boca Grande. It is supposed to have a lot of tarpon but some people say don't go there because it is wall-to-wall boats and some people don't have any fishing manners.

I should add - I don't need to go after a 200 pounder or anything, I would be very happy with something in the 50 pound range. I just want to beat my biggest fish so far - a 37 pound salmon.

You can fish from shore at Stump Pass if you don't mind walking about a mile with all your gear. Quicker to take a boat.

If you stay at Weston's Wannabe Inn you are right there and they have docks and ramps.

Tons of Snook, Reds, Black Drum as well as Tarpon. I am 6'2" and literally caught a Snook as long as my leg. Great shark fishing also.

It's not like that all the time. A good guide will time it for you.

My sister and another friend live minutes drive from there.
