    Even with a permit, it's going to be very hard to EDC legally. The list of places off limits is pretty lengthy. I can carry there under LEOSA, but would have to comply with all local regulations to include registering my handgun with the local police if I stay more than 5 days. I'm not going to do that, so I'm not carrying. If a sea turtle eats me while I was unarmed, I guess I knew the risks.

    Seriously, it's a move in the right direction and hopefully that continues, but there's a lot more chipping to be done in HI.
    Carry a plastic straw. I hear those are deadly to sea turtles.

    I haven’t kept up with Hawaii, but apparently the police department and the city did indeed massively drag feet on issuing permits, and there was a lawsuit that had a somewhat favorable outcome today. Click through to read details.

    It is an improvement. Hawaii still has a long way to go though.

    Maybe we can move Gary Indiana closer, to bump up those gun numbers up....
    Tulsi Gabbard is pretty pro gun, but she seems the exception......and seems to be spending all her time off island...

    That police chief probably was a nervous wreck the moment he signed off on the permit. Probably afraid of what he may have unleashed;
    Oh, the humanity! :ugh::ugh:

    It ain't over yet. Hawaii is the state in which the 2nd Amendment - and the rest of the U.S. Constitution for that matter - is not in keeping with the "Aloha Spirit", which means they can do whatever they damn well please.

    The aloha spirit isn’t in keeping with the 14th amendment.

    Yes. That opinion was just bonkers. And right now, Hawaii is the only state where carry (even with a license) is illegal in virtually the entire state. They haven't been enjoined like NY, NJ, CA & MD have with similar outlandish laws.

    Even though legal to do so, I did not take a firearm when I went to HI due to how burdensome the requirements were.

    *edit*, which I apparently already mentioned in this thread a year ago, so ignore this.
