I have 6 Sigs and sadly only 2 HKs. I like the Sigs' triggers better but the HKs have better ergos. My USP 45 Tactical was the most accurate handgun I ever shot. It is missed and will be replaced soon hopefully.

Just got rid of an HK USP. I took it on trade for an AR.. I didnt see what made them worth $900. I had it a week and it was gone.. If youre just wanting a nightstand gun there are tons of good options that are far cheaper than SIG's and HK's. Heres what Id be looking at.. Take it as you will...

Beretta 92.. Beautiful gun. Beautiful fit and finish.. $550
M&P.. Nice feel in the hand. Super accurate. Crappy trigger. $450
Glock 17 Gen 4. Nice trigger. 100% reliable. Nothing fancy. 3 mags. $530

    ect, ect, ect...

My HK USP.45 V1's Conceal decent with a quality IWB holster, as long as you arent wearing a really tight shirt. The USP.45 is larger than the USP9 also.

I haven't tried carrying my 226 mk25's yet, but I can't imagine them being that hard to conceal with the right clothing.

I'm not a big guy either. 5"10" 185, very slim waist.

I've decided to never spend the money on anything from H & K, so I vote Sig.

To open it up a little, I really enjoy shooting my XD. It hasn't become my nightstand piece yet, but it's growing on me.

hmmmm, i think i like the sig more, i have a 226 made in west germany that shoot awesome, accurate and flawless, but i bought another 226 that is newer and had to send it back to sig..... it was jamming and sights were way off. sig fixed it up and sent it back, no problums since. i have a hk. i like hk, but they dont carry as many rounds and to me dont feel as good in the hand. i go with sig. if you want my second pick i would say a glock of a springfeild xd.

For a nightstand gun I would buy a Glock or M&P. I own a USP Expert 9mm and my M&P 9mm with all the Apex Tactical trigger components has a better trigger. My Glock 17 with a shorter barrel has less recoil then the USP Expert 9mm. If you don't mind the extra weight a CZ 75B is also a great gun.

I have a Sig 226 W. German and I have it loaded up w/18rd MecGars. It shot circles around a CZ SP-01 that I just sold. There was no comparison between the triggers. The Sig blew the CZ out of the water hence it being sold. My second choice is a HK P30 w/15rd mags. It is crazy accurate as well.

I prefer the ergos of HK over Sig. Both however are great guns. I have sold all of my Sigs and own 1 HK for what it's worth.

If I were building up a night stand gun, I would either go with a G17/19 or Walther PPQ. Get the slide milled and add a Trijicon RMR.

For striker-fired don't dismiss the Sig P320. Damn fine pistol and 100% modular once you own the fire control group. Nice Picatinny rail too. Five grooves on the full size and four on the carry model (compact).
