Hidden Gem?

Hey guys, finally closed on my Father-In-Law's house after it sat for 2 years. Our realtor took me aside and handed me a handkerchief after the closing and told me that this has been found in the back of a drawer in a section of the house that my F-I-L never used.

not really sure what it is... possibly a .32... says
"R&R Double K Action" on the top... can't make out the stamps on the barrel yet. Any ideas? and should I bother trying to restore it at all? Fits nicely in the hand, wouldn't mind having a working piece of history even if it does have a few pits in the steel.

for the record, the rust doesn't look nearly as bad in real life...

Is it possibly an h&r? That seems more likely. They did make a 32 and the top was stamped h&r double action.

with a little brass brushing, it IS an H&R and it's a .32.... thanks! time for google

Just make sure you get the right .32 ammo for it. Could be .32 S&W, could be .32 Long, etc. etc.....

apparently it's a .32 s&w CTGE (fairly certain that stands for cartridge)

Ditto on making sure it is the right .32 if you do try and shoot. Not worth losing your !
