Interesting episode on Nat Geo's "Doomsday Preppers" a couple years ago. It was actually a guy in Indiana. He parked his older pull behind travel trailer in a dug out portion on a hill on 20+ acres. He built walls and a strong ceiling over it. The RV has all the system you need and he ran PVC from the sewer drain of the RV downhill to a leatch field he installed. The structure has at least 3 ft of dirt on top of the roof and the rv makes comfortable living conditions. It was easy to hook solar cells to a battery bank and the RV, with its primarily 12 volt systems, made the bunker fairly cheap.

Interesting, I may have to see if I can find it on you tube. I looked into the prefab bed bunkers and let's just say they aren't cheap.
