In the mood for a Henry Big Boy 44 w/20" octagon barrel. Been looking at Buds Guns and Kentucky Gun Co, anyplace else should I be looking at for a good price?

I know I will catch grief for this but you might check Wal-Mart. I don't know if they have the 44 mag version but I know in the past they have had the best price on the Henry .22LR version. You can also search gunwatcher.com for a list of prices (it's a search engine that can be helpful).

It's about 30 - 45 min North of you but give John a call and see what he can do. His shop is only open a few days a week as he owns another business, but he'll usually answer the phone and get back to you.

Please tell me you'd spend an extra $8 and support a LGS

I wouldn't. Rural King is one of my favorite stores. They employ local residents the same as a LGS. Plus the gun department at my local Rural King is more helpful and friendly than any of the local gun stores I've been in.

no way I could spend an extra $8 when none of the local gun stores had what I was looking for nor could they get one in. every one said they were back ordered. rural king didn't even have one. MC just matched the price because they are helpful. as far as I found MC had the last one in town that was a 44 magnum.
