Can anyone recommend anyone who can fix a canted sight on a Bulgarian AK74? I want someone who has done this before.

Also, what should something like this cost to get fixed?

    Thanks

First, is really canted enough that you can't windage the front sight enough to zero the rifle?

There used to be a really good guide on the Romanian AK site that was on gunsnet, however that site is now down. Basically the the best way to do it is to drift out the pins (usually go left to right in Romy AKs) and re-drill the holes and pin channels on the barrel for the new angle. This DVD covers how to fix it along with a lot of other AK Armorer's issues:

Yes, you can smack the heck out of it like Greenmosta is saying but you risk bending the pins/out of round the holes which could cause the front sight to wobble back and forth.

MattCFII - I've got the front sight adjusted all the way to the left and it's still off buy an inch at 25 yards so I know it's going to be way off at 100 yards.

BTW - thanks for the dvd recommendation, I'll be picking that up.

2x4 and hammer is actually a pretty good method.

Knocking the pins out doesn't do much from my experience.

If barrel channel's angle isn't changed, when you replace the pins it will just go back to the same cant. That's why redrilling the barrel channels to a new angle (and the pin holes for larger pins while you are at it) in necessary for the best cant fix.

Just for reference a picture of an naked AK barrel:

    Matt,
    I know that. Thanks though.

What I was referring to was knocking the pins out does not seem to have the effect of loosening up the FSB if it's tight.
If it's tight, it's usually just tight and will not budge pins or no pins.
