Help me identify: teargas revolver

I don't have my camera handy but was wondering how old this thing is and if it's even anything worthwhile. I got it from my grandpa, who said his dad bought it for his mom for pd. It says RTS revolver starter model 1965 8 shot cal. 22-teargas. I think it's neat, looks like it's never been fired, but was just curious about it.
