Help identifying this animal

I need a little help with this critter. I think it is a coyote, but it looks really scrawny and sickly. Here are some pictures of it. It has been running around our neighborhood.

How tall was it? The tail looks like it could be too long for a coyote. If it's short, maybe a fox with mange.

Looks like a mangy fox to me, but hard to tell without something in the background for scale.

We had a fox in Carmel a couple of years ago that kinda looked like that. I saw it a couple of times. The first time I was like "what the heck is that?", then I got a better look at it.

How tall are those white things with the brown tubes? And what the heck are they? This should help to get some scale to judge height.

Tail is not Coyote. Agree on the sick fox theory. Put it down ASAP.

Thanks for the replies everyone. This thing is about 18inches maybe 2 feet tall, I'm guessing approximitly 35-40lbs, maybe less it's hard to tell. It won't let me get very close to it.

Will the DNR come and get this thing, I'm in hamilton county?

I don't have a bow....I just have noisy guns, and shooting here is a no no.

Those things it is near are basically plumbing for watering trees. A landscape business grows trees back there. They are not currently growing anything so they just have those "T,s" sticking up with short flex hoses plugged off.

Fox stomachs are even with their chests or hang down ( If full). Coyotes bellies go up like a thin dog's would. That's a fox with mange as far as I can tell.

I went out and measured the white things. They stick up 15" from the ground. The grass/weeds are about 3" tall, so about 12" of white is visible.
