I wanted to post a quick hello.

My friend pointed me to this site as a great location to ask questions and get honest answers.
I'm looking into several options for my first purchase.
Although I'm not sure what I'm looking for, it seems that most of my questions have been answered here at one time or another.

Welcome from Hobart. You need to go to a gun show or local gun shop to see what fits your hand the best. What are you going to use the pistol or rifle for and most important is to find a firearm that has ammo in stock.

I've been spending lots of time answering those questions over the past couple weeks.

I think I've narrowed down what I am looking for, but I definitely need some unbiased and biased opinions.
I just posted a comment in the handgun section since I wasn't sure about posting my questions in this area.
