Optics plate screw stripped so I tried a small screw extractor and ended up popping off the head of the screw instead. Any suggestions for getting the remaining portion of the screw out?

    How deep is it?
Did it shear flat, or are there jagged edges.

I've sat there and meticulously worked one out with a small pin.
But it wasn't too deep, and it had a jagged edge I could work the pin against.

There is one thread above the frame. The screw also has blue loctite on the threads.

I think I’m going to continue to drill the screw until it’s flush. The optic uses different holes for mounting I just need it smooth on top to mount the optic.

Can you give it a day?
See if maybe someone has a better idea?

If you don't need the hole, mill it flush.

However, I'd use a mill drill endmill down the center that was undersized. Then typically you can peel the leftover screw out of the threads.
