Depends on how you dress as that is what works best for how I dress. With dress shoes and a garter on the holster

Here is a pic of Snorko somebody snapped while he was at work...:)

My PK380 has been my ankle gun for the last couple of years, but I'm switching to the XDs 45 when I get qualified with it. It's actually slightly smaller in size than the pk380. The 45 is very comfortable on the ankle.

Because it is narrow and fairly light, I would sometimes carry a 2 shot derringer chambered in .38. Cleary an up close and personal use only weapon, but I always believed two shots was better than no shots in a pinch. It was a davis, which is low quality, but it did go bang every time I shot it. I tried a Bond arms in .410/.45 colt but it was more bulky and heavy than a small revolver

I always carry a 27 as a backup to my 22 in a desantis apache which is the best out of all I've tried thus far.

XDS45-3.3 on the inside left ankle, but only when I'm wearing jeans. All my work pants and khakis are straight fit making it print sometimes when my legs aren't in a straight line. Loose fit jeans work like a champ.

Personally, if I was a LEO, If I could, I would carry the smallest version of whatever pistol uses the same magazines as my primary.

It's a good theory, but the smallest gun that's compatible with my primary is a P245. That's somewhere north of 30 oz loaded, probably more than I'd want to hang on my ankle.
