those things are nice, had one for years, durable and the steel is soft enough that you can hone it with a river rock if you need to sharpen it in the woods!
Bought one last year to thin out the cat tails around pop's dock. Expected it to fold up like so many have before, but it worked pretty darn good. Good value for the money.
Harbor Freight just opened a store in Lafayette, a coworker had a grand opening flier and he was able to pick up 7 of them for 3.97$ each. Luckily two of them are mine. Tomorrow I plan on destroying one to see how trust worthy a 4$ machete can be.

I bought one yesterday so I could get a free 25' tape measure. Usually I end up buying a 59 cent clamp, but decided to buy the machete instead.
It chopped down a few thick weeds/saplings no problem, but that was as far as I went with it.
(I love their 20% off coupons or their get a free tape measure or volt meter with any purchase. 63 cents for them isn't a bad deal!)
