Back in the 80's I did a lot of indoor 22 shooting in league matches at the old Sycamore Valley Gun Club that was located on the grounds of IU on the east side of Bloomington. I had a 4" Victor which I loved, but with three kids to raise, somewhere along the way after I quit shooting it, I traded that fine pistol on something I can't remember, and most likely no longer own. Three years ago I bought a replacement 4" Hamden Victor, this one with a solid rib. That got me interested in 22 target pistols again, and I bought a few 41's and Brownings, and then read about the Giles High Standards, and thought it would be great to have one of them. After a year of searching I located one in Knoxville, a nice 103 Citation/Giles. Almost immediately I then located one in California, this one a Military Trophy which the owner said was new, as he ordered it from Giles in the 70's whole in the service, and never fired it. I was finally able to buy it last week, and between the first and last I picked up another Giles Military Trophy and also a Giles Ruger (054 frame). Here they are, along with the two Victor's I also own.......they are kissing cousins, for sure!
