Okay, Halloween night (or whenever trick or treat is) is a time when every soccer mom in the country is legally obligated to go out in public and roam the streets with their kids. I'm mostly just poking for some good stories, but does anyone have a story about them passing out candy or walking with their kids during trick or treat while openly carrying? I could see this being very interesting if you are walking door to door with your kid.

For the last 3 years, I've dressed in my full "economic collapse" loadout. Vest, drop-leg holster, pads, and rifle slung on back. Even went to my church's "Trunk or Treat". Got some looks, but mostly good.

Yes, both firearms were loaded. :patriot:

Thinking about doing the Jihadi terrorist thing for a party this weekend, sling the ak over the shoulder, full body bomb, the whole thing! Just not sure if I'm willing to go "all the way" to win a costume contest though!

    Between corn and soybean fields.
Thought about getting a ghillie suit and OCing my AR... but at my age (mid-to-upper 20's) with no kids... the only Halloween events I'd go to would be possibly going to the bar or something. Don't feel like dealing with idiots wanting to play with my guns so I'll probably either not dress up, not OC, or just stay home.

Otherwise I was thinking of getting a shoulder holster so I could go as a plain clothed cop or FBI agent with his blazer removed... but see above.

Basically, I wanted an excuse to open carry in public since I only conceal carry, but because of where I'd go if I were to go out... I probably wont carry (openly). I also keep the porch light off and gate locked, so no tricker treaters here!

I keep my lights off and my gate locked too. The kids in my area are little theives and vandals so I don't feel like rewarding them at all. Before living here though I loved to give out candy on Halloween. I was in IL and yes, I dressed like a Pirate most of the time complete with loaded and working BP weapons on me as well as really nice pirate cutlass that is capable or severing body parts. Kids loved it and the parents must have thought it was all fake.

    Could be anywhere
I've dressed up like a frontiersman and carried my Hawken .50 and a really big knife and a knight in armor with a two handed sword to escort my daughter around the neighborhood. In my driveway last year I dressed up like Alan Quatermain with a full camp site and fire. had a .308 Plezier Mauser with a P08 on my Sam Brown belt. On the plus side one munchkin walked up and properly identified every piece of my kit...

I only had one person ask if they were loaded...he said if they saw trouble they were coming back.

I wonder what kind of attention from the police someone would get if they dressed up as a cop on Halloween and open carried.

Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting or encouraging anyone to try. I do not believe it is right to carry just to get a reaction. In fact, I would not suggest this regardless of intent.

Open Carried for the last several years running for Halloween. I even went as an Occupy Wallstreeter demanding equal candy corn for adults. Still had it with me.
