I purchased a used Mossberg 20 ga bantam on Gunbroker. The listing clearly stated that a lockable case and an extra stock were included. The locking case is the thing that kind of sealed the deal for me because I figured that it would offset the transfer fee. Went to my FFL dealer to pick it up, and there was no case--only the gun and the extra stock.

I know I need to contact the seller. What I want to know is if there is any way that he can revise the listing after the deal is done to delete the part about the case being included?

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt at first and assume it was an honest mistake. I plan to contact him, but before I do, I'm just curious about whether he can revise the listing after the fact.

I saw nothing about a locking case.

    Look again...

20 ga Mossberg Junior Shotgun Model 500c This was my younger son's first gun for shooting skeet. I need space in the safe. • 6lbs 4oz weight. 21" barrell, 13.8" LOP for installed stock, 11.5" with spare stock • Bought 2009, S/N R9587898 • Lockable hard case • Very good to Excellent condition according to NRA's rating system. • Less than 1000 rounds fired through it. Payment • Paypal "send someone money" to my e-mail address • Cashier's check • Postal money order Shipping • I will ship upon verification of funds receipt • FOB East SF Bay or face-to-face transfer at Big Five Sporting Goods store ($35.00 including FFL fees) • $40 lower 48, $10 additional for insurance (USPS Standard Post) • Alternate shipping by special arrangement between buyer and seller, at buyer's expense • Ship only to FFL, upon receipt of FFL signed paperwork and buyer's proof of age (scan of driver's license or equivalent) • Three-day non-firing return

Ive made mistakes selling on gunbroker... Contact him and tell him he forgot the case. If he isnt a dbag he should send it to you. If he refuses, then worry about the next step.

I purchase a rifle through gunbroker and everything was good until I went to the FFL and found that was not the model that the action listed, I did contact the seller right away and sent an email with the description on the listing for them to see their mistake. In the end I did get a refund to compensate for the difference.

Yeah. I just emailed him and told him that I did not complete the transfer because everything was not as stated in the listing, and then I nicely asked him if he forgot to ship the case.

Yeah. I just emailed him and told him that I did not complete the transfer because everything was not as stated in the listing, and then I nicely asked him if he forgot to ship the case.

I would go ahead and complete the transfer. The case has nothing to do with the transfer and the seller already has your money. Not completing the transfer does NOTHING to the seller. It only keeps your gun locked up at your FFL dealer. If you want some "extra" evidence, print out a copy of the webpage you linked above, highlight the "LOCKABLE HARD CASE" in pink highlighter, and ask the FFL dealer to provide you with a receipt that says the case was not included.

I would also, as you have already done, contact the seller and remind him that the auction included a locking case but no case was included in the shipment. Ask him to send the case promptly.

You have some recourse through Gunbroker.

You also have the ability to leave him negative feedback if he doesn't resolve it properly.

Work directly with the seller first. Then if you can't get prompt reply, go to Gunbroker resolution area. Finally leave negative feedback. But initially presume it is just an honest mistake and ask the seller to ship the case.

Just another reason I never, ever buy sight unseen. I just do not do it.
Every time I do I am disappointed and I am not talking just gun stuff.
