I stopped into Blythe's today in Griffith. I needed to arrange for 2 transfers. Both guns coming from the same dealer. I have not had them do a transfer for me for several years so I wasn't sure what to expect.

First guy I talk to is nice enough, he says the transfer fee is $50 per gun. I ask for a discount. He starts to cave and was about to give me a break when another guy chimes in and overrules him. Then he goes on to say that the the more expensive the gun, the more they charge for the transfer. $1000 gun, gets a $100 transfer fee. YIKES. He then goes on to begin to tell me about "all the paperwork" and "all the work" they have to go through to "process" a transfer like I am asking them to do. WTF!?! I know the paperwork, I used to go through it with Chuck at C.N.I. and I saw his book and what he did. He explained all of it to me and charged me $20 per gun, less if I did multiples.

Blythes is now off my list of places to go.

Sad too because I've actually gotten some good deals from them in the past. Gotten great service from them too.

Use Great Lakes Shooters (Portage, IN). Dennis charges $20 per transfer.
