After reading post #31 above it came to me that anti-gunners don’t give a :poop: about what drives gun sales. They even overlook their own stupidity! They just want guns banned so they can create their socialist gun free utopia. Too bad these idiot libturds forget their history lessons which confirm that socialism is a failed concept. Just look at the USSR and South American countries that were socialist.
Oh, and I do agree with post #31, thankfully anti-gunners are their own worst enemy promoting gun sales! :wavey:

The dumbest part of all that is besides the proper citizens buying at higher prices...the anti-gunners are still so blind that they are still not getting the fact the criminals are also getting more illegal possessions of firearm. They are more worried about us, but ignor who should not have them...go figure

I gotta call Bacon Sandwich on the entire article. You can't get 5 seconds into reading this without realizing:
AMERICANS OWN 120 FIREARMS PER 100 PEOPLE. (1.2 guns per person) does not jive with
WYOMING HAS THE MOST GUNS PER PERSON 245 PER 1000 PEOPLE. (0.245 guns per person)

If Wyoming has the most @ 0.245/person, there is no way to get a national average of 1.2/person BECAUSE NO OTHER STATE CAN (by definition) HAVE MORE THAN 0.245. The included table shows this. No state has a per capita rate of more than 0.245 (Wyoming). You can't add up any amount of numbers less than 0.245 and come up with an average of 1.2.

    • According to surveys, 36% of gun owners are white, 24% are black, and 15% are Hispanic. The remaining civilians do not personally own a firearm but do live in a home with someone who does.
THE REMAINING CIVILIANS (all other Americans) ... live in a home with someone who owns a gun. ??? I read this as there is a gun in EVERY American home. I KNOW that is not true. I also ASSUME, that is not what the articles' publisher meant.

If one (or more) part of an article like this is obvious chicken $#!T, the rest of it not worth reading.

The Wyoming rate, is for NFA guns.
It does not compare to a rate that is ALL firearms.

What? So Wyoming has a higher than national average of NFA ownership? In and of itself, that fact is irrelevant. Why aren't NFA included in 'guns'? Smells like bacon sandwich to me.
Some people use the NFA to judge the 'number of guns' in the country.
And they calculate the # of guns per person.

But it is not the same, as the total number of guns per person.

I have been reading on this topic for years and there is no definitive answer but due to the nature of the situation, many gun owners revere their privacy and lie to pollsters thus the background checks are the best proxy we have. I have read convincing research indicating there are likely near 700 million guns out there.

Bottom line. I look at it this way. I have purchased, in the last 3-4 years, approximately 10 handguns; all at retail FFL stores. Therefore, the ATF has approximately 10 filings with my name on them. How many guns do I own? How many of them have I sold? How many did I give to Mexican cartels as party favors? The ATF, nor anyone else, has no way of knowing how many guns I own. I could have as few as 0; sold them all legally. I could have those 10, and 258 more that I purchased on INGO, and 37 I stole out of parked cars. The point you ask? The point is: THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO REAL IDEA HOW MANY GUNS I OWN. And that, my friends, is as it should be.

The posted numbers are right next to meaningless. Here is a poll for you:
How many of you have been called/texted/visited by a pollster asking about your guns? How many of you would tell said pollster to FO&D? Where is this information coming from. My guess: guesses.

700 million sounds about right to me. 333 million Americans times 1 gun in each hand. Yep, 700 million looks just fine.

I see these poll discussions for many different things which i have never took part of. Unless they have a paper trail going back to the first ever sales of firearms, there is nothing really to say how many. About the only thing they could possibly come close to is how many operatoring automobiles people have.

Once that I remember before I lost my hearing.
I told them it wasn't their business and hung up.

Since I Lost my hearing I don't do phone calls. Email, letters, or texts only nowadays.
I guess pollsters don't like that.

There are some pretty big mistakes in that data, and it's obvious they are using different sources and definitions on each section with no consistency. Hopefully they will go back to their root data and conform their assumptions to the facts.
