I saw where there are some parts on a pistol that grease is needed. Are there any types that are better than others? Open for suggestions.

I have used common Hi Temp automotive grease (the red stuff) to great effect.

It seems to not burn off, not attract dust or dirt like oil and after almost 1000 rounds of nasty Russian ammo through my Taurus PT92 it is still smooth as silk.

Lubriplate for WWII and earlier firearms like M1's, Rigg stainless + for my stainless semi autos. These products work without trouble. Like mentioned above, there are lot's of great products out there. If something works, I just stick with it.

Been using Super Lube synthetic grease. Must be good, it says it will burn yer eyes out. It's very similar to fishing reel grease. Harbor Freight about 4 bucks 3 ounces.

Lithium Grease is the best grease on the planet! I use it on all my guns. It resists heat, and build up better than just about anything out there. And can be used on anything with moving metal parts.

Is this the marina wheel bearing grease, for boat trailers?
