I know, anyone who questions any goofball condemnation of the NRA is a Nazi, or a Nazi sympathizer, right? Is there no limit to the crazy, hyperbolic idiocies thrown around like confetti? Well, we now what a rational person you are, huh? Maybe your opinions should be read in that light.

When are you going to finally understand that the only reason you don't get exactly what you want is that you keep taking what you can get in the real world instead of going after what's only possible to achieve in your own fantasy world? Why can't you see that even if most people disagree with you, all you have to do is stake out an extreme position and stay with it regardless of the real world consequences?

In that beautiful fantasyland you eschew, the 5% of the population who believe in maximum gun freedom run everything. In that wonderful land there's never a need to compromise, because the correct minority always wins the day over the repressive majority.

You insist upon living in a world where careful political maneuvering and distasteful compromise and choosing between the lesser of two evils has allowed us to carry concealed in most of the country, to still have some access to Class III items, and in many states to defend your person and home without a requirement to retreat, and repealed the so-called AWB.

Embrace the land where a no compromise position sways the other 95% of the population to your view, and where you can hold politicians to standards that would ensure their political defeat should they embrace them, and where the NRA is part of the problem and not the most important organization defending gun rights in our history. Embrace the land where the world works just as it did when your Mommy made everything just right with some warm cookies and a glass of milk, and where unicorns are born free, free as the wind blows.

Shame on you for choosing to live in the real world.

Or you can just remain willfully ignorant of the fact the NRA has been lead by people who don't give a hoot about anyone but those who hunt deer.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSGySNLyACE"]YouTube - NRA board member Joaquin Jackson, the enemy with in[/ame]

Being well informed means you would know that when the GCA was passed, the NRA was lead by a group that once again didn't care about semi-auto or full-auto rifles and handguns that weren't used by hunters. They only cared about the "majority" and routinely negotiated with the "minorities" interests.

That's a simple fact you can't deny. Perhaps you belong to the group that willingly throws the minority to the sharks every chance they get to protect their single shot 45-70's. That, or you're just apathetic to the true intent of the 2nd Amendment and are perfectly content surrendering bits and pieces of it when necessary.

It's that vocal minority you take such pride in ridiculing that has worked its collective butt off over the years who were once considered "extremists" that got those laws you claim to cherish to much on the books. Laws like castle doctrines, CCW laws in the majority of the states (where 30 years ago only a handful had them), etc. passed because of them.

By the way, the AWB didn't get repealed, it sunset. If you're going to have an opinion, it helps to have one based on fact.

The NRA you love so much refused to do anything about the gun confiscations in NOLA. They only decided to get involved after the extremists in the GOA filed suit... then took all the credit when it went favorably.

The same NRA opposed at every turn the Heller case and fought to keep it out of the SCOTUS. It was the extremists you despise so much and mock that pushed that case through to the end and gave us the most important SCOTUS ruling regarding the 2nd Amendment in history. Again, the NRA boasts about it now as if it actually helped the cause.

5 rounds. WOW mosts revolvers are illegal to this backer of the second ammendment. This is the type of jokers the NRA backs. My hunting shotgun can hold more than five.
