Took a friend to shoot at Don's Guns today-- word had it a guy could shoot for $10 there.

Surprise!! $15 per lane for half an hour & even though I would just be coaching my pal, I hadda pay $10 to be on the lane with him.

Hate surprises like that, but had to follow through with my word to get my pal some trigger time.

So we finish & are shoppin' a little & guess who the heck walks in...

Very personable guy. Showed us his carry gun (any guesses on what he carries?) and later brought over a new Bersa 9 mil to show off.

Still can't believe that I got outta there without buyin' anything besides range-time... What a salesguy Don is!

Was glad to meet him & it was a kinda cool for my pal to get the perk on his first trip to the range.

Almost surreal to see Don walk in, though. Was sure he was livin' big in Shangri-La somewhere.

What a character! Nice guy, though.

You can go to Popguns on the east side and shoot for an hour for $19 plus tax. Also, you can add another person for only $5 more

Went there a few years back with a few buddies who were looking to get their first carry guns. Don came in right after we did and immediately tried selling my friend a Taurus 9mm for $500 that looked like it was dug up out of a gravel pit. I came over just in time and told my buddy that it was an astoundingly bad deal. Don was less than pleased, and asked us to leave. Yeah, Don is a REAL nice guy when he's trying to sell something. Trust me, I'm in sales. I've seen how the top performers get things done. It's not about making friends or being honest. It's about making that $$.

Don's Guns is the worst gunstore I've ever been in.

He's nothing more than a crooked, greedy, eccentric old man.\
But I am curious bout what he carries. What was it?

Most of us don't like him because his notoriously anti-2nd amendment past and ridiculously high prices. Like RIDICULOUSLY high prices.

That said, I did visit his range the other day because it's open late. Nobody else was there so it worked out well.

I really think I may have to make a trip up north to visit his shop so I can experience it. lol It sounds like I am missing out on a good laugh on all his prices.
