Went shooting at Sugar Ridge today with my son and nephew. Had a GREAT time. Got to shoot several calibers I've never shot before:
    7.62x54R - My two "new" Mosins - M44 and 91/30
    7.62x39 - Nephew's AK47
    .30 - Nephew's M1 Carbine
    .357Mag - Nephew's .357
    .44Mag - Nephew's .44mag
    Son's Remington 870 Super Mag - 3 1/2 and 2 3/4

along with the various 9mm, .22LR, 44lc and .410 from my other guns. Trouble is, every time I shoot a new caliber, I want that gun.

I took the '9s' and the .45 out to Atterbury yesterday for an hour. I forgot what a hoss my .45 is(acp)....compared to my 9s....I don't shoot it very often. Bet it had been 6-9 mos since I shot it last. Had a blast even thought it rained some.

Saw a father with his son next to me...trying to teach the kid(5 maybe) how to shoot a little .22 pistol right(I could tell it wasn't the kids first trip to the range). Kid was dying to go shoot the 'ar' that was in the rifle case though. :patriot:

Plan on taking my daughter to the range for the first time on Friday with her new little Cricket rifle.

It is a great place to go, I have been several times. I am glad the state has made this area for us folks who like to shoot, but don't have a good place to go.

You can add another one to the list. Is the M1 and Garand or a Carbine? Neither shoot 7.62x39. The Garand shoots .30-06, the carbine shots .30 carbine. ;)

Got me! You're absolutely right. It was a carbine - .30 cal. Rough gun, but it shot VERY nice. Thanks for the reminder.
