"But they're assault rifles," I noted. I knew that much from TV.

This was enough for me. :noway:

I can understand why... After reading the entire exchange:

"I'm kind of surprised you carry assault rifles," I said to Ron.

"There's no such thing as an assault rifle," he said. "These are 'military-style rifles' or 'modern sporting rifles.' "

"But they're assault rifles :nailbite: :baby: :nailbite:," I noted. I knew that much from TV.

...I wanted to ask/tell the writer of the article...

    acb1b4d0-82f6-4064-a657-503c11531346.jpg

I've read this same article about 5 times over the years...

The names of the writers, the date, and the publication they have appeared in are all different, but the libtard media somehow manages to publish *THIS EXACT SAME ARTICLE* every few years or so. They all are written by some heavily anti-gun biased, I'm-oh-so-much-smarter-than-these-simpleton-gun-owners arrogant numbnuts that writes as if the mere thought of being within 10 feet of a civilian-owned firearm makes them lose all bladder control for the next 12 hours...
They also take the same arrogant attitude against the petite female in need of protection from a stalker, the old retired veteran target shooter, the ethical hunter, the shooting sports competitor...making it crystal clear that they think WE are the ones that are weird/abnormal/mentally unbalanced, and that the better-that-she-gets-strangled-dead-with-her-own-panties-than-be-able-to-shoot-her-rapist types, the how-dare-you-teach-your-children-personal-responsibility-with-a-firearm??!? types, and the rely-on-the-police-Big-Brother-will-always-save-you types are the ones who are correct, normal, and reasonable. Sure, the NRA has over 4 million members, and the Brady Campaign has only about 28,000 on its mailing list (which may not denote actual membership), but law-abiding gun owners are the freaks, and the hand-wringing, ignore-the-greater-death-toll-due-to-medical malpractice/drowning/car accidents/etc.-and-let's-focus-on-guns gaggle of gun-banners are the mainstream... :xmad:

Different :poop:-head writing it, different :poop:-rag publishing it, but this is the same propaganda-disguised-as-documentary-journalism, :bs: that keeps getting published again and again to help keep the pseudo-intellectual anti-gun a-holes convinced that their intellectually bankrupt and morally indefensible opinion is correct... :ranton:

The patter of thirty-two bullets lasted maybe three seconds, and then the eyeball was gone. The release felt like one gorgeous, fantastic sneeze, and the satisfaction reminded me of cold beer.

The last 2 lines were my favorite. Does this mean she's a convert?

Sure where a lot of"assault rifles." All the stores i've been to lately don't have near that much inventory. They all say stocks are down because gun sales are skyrocketing. Political uncertanty.

You also have to remember the nature of the store. Some folks move a lot more iron, like Bob Cheek for example, that those more like Gander Mountain with huge stores and huge prices to match. This sounds much like the latter.

Yea your right Gander mountan probably has the most guns in my area. They may have only one or two ar's and no ak variants. Mostly shotguns and small cal rifles.

    Spoiler! :dunno:

...but yeah, that's how I interpreted it. She's a convert! She did buy a 15-22 rifle, and had a Glock shipped to an FFL in her home state (PA).

I don't think the article was too bad--it was at least witty and well-written. Anyone have a link for the 'exact same' article from years past? It would be interesting to read the reference to "Fast and Furious".

Change sneeze to orgasm and it would have been prefect. Having fired a full-auto UZI myself, I know where she's coming from :rockwoot:

While filled with the usual anti-gun crowd jargon, I didn't think it was too bad. By the time I got to the end all I was thinking was, "What point is she trying to make?" She never gets around to saying how she felt after the whole ordeal.

I was wondering if she had figured that out yet herself, which of course could prevent her from telling the rest of us.

I think she's a convert. She spent almost a grand, for Christ's sake!

As I said in my post, the writers and publications, and words used are different, but the overall gist, and the twisted panty Oh-think-of-the-poor-children boo-hooing tone :tantrum: of the article are exactly the same. Same crap, different day...

The drivel of the anti-gunners never changes, even if a completely different talking head sings it... Any new law that takes a small step closer to restoring freedoms lost always results in the same "Wild West..! Blood in the streets!" :runaway: hysterical :bs: being excreted from the gun-banner's orifices, and a "let's go to the zoo/circus freakshow to see some gun owners, then write an article about my time slumming with them" article like this usually pops up sometime after a major shooting incident. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

As has been pointed out, she *did* buy two firearms, but so did Micheal Moore, and he is still stuck firmly on Stupid regarding gun control (and pretty much everything else as well...). IMHO/:twocents: this fact does not make up for the condescending attitude expressed at the beginning of the article, so I give it :noway: :noway:. However, I suspect she may have partly seen the light since she stayed/worked in the shop several days and saw firsthand that we are people just like her, but was perhaps worried about getting work later on if she said as much. McCarthy-esque blacklisting of those that fail to toe the Party line is alive and well among the 'tolerant' and 'open-minded' liberals/left-tards that dominate the media, thus the vague/open-ended conclusion methinks...

I enjoyed the article. The author is an east coast liberal. She makes no bones about it. She writes of the opinions of her friends and associates, and how they think WE are the crazy or ignorant ones.

Over the course of her visit, she appears to me, to have realized some of the flaws of her "east coast indoctrination". She started the story thinking she would justify her opinions. She came away, at a minimum with an understanding, or hopefully with a little respect for REAL Americans.

Democrat and Socialist have not always been synonymous. Yeah, she's still a liberal, but she's a liberal that got a little bit of education by stepping out of her normal environment and engaging some good ambassadors for our way of life.
