    Republicans fought to stop slave trade.
    What does that have to do with today’s breed of feckless Republican Congress critters who tell us one thing and do another. I’d hold out little hope that this will go anywhere. Too many Republicans like their under-the-table laborers to give them up. Or the immigration problem would have been solved a long time ago.

    Many Christians confuse the commands for them individually, those for the family structure, the state, and the church. Kindness to strangers is an individual command.
    It’s like progressives chasing what I call unearned virtue. They act as voting for “helping” people with other people’s money earns them virtue points.

    God won’t force a person to live with him in eternity against their will. Why Christians think they feel compelled to force others to do the charity of their choice against their will seems at odds to the nature of the God they say they worship.
