My browing a-bolt .243 likes 105grain speer round nose soft points. Don't remember the load recipe, but it is a wonderfull shooting rifle. It has the BOSS system.
Much love for the .243 Win. Lot of people think they are a woman and kids gun too small to do anything with. Loved the one I had. It was a older Ruger M77 carbine with a 1-9 twist. I shot factory 80grn Winchester Power Points at coyote and varmints all dead before they hit the ground. Bumped up to 100grn Rem Kor-Lokt for hog blasting. Hog also dead before it hit the ground with a heart shot. Fantastic very capable round.
If I was looking for a good hunting rifle or bench rest gun it would be one to consider for sure. I myself have settled on the .223 Rem for everything now due to cost, lack of long range to shoot, and I don't hunt anymore.
Shot the 95 grain partition in the 6-06.
No complaints except for pressures increasing faster due to the bullet construction.
But, as expected, it stayed together.
