I know ammo prices have been at a premium as of late, but what I saw at the Lafayette gun show this weekend takes the cake.

A spam can, just like any other spam can of 7.62x54R.
440 rounds, printed in Russian of course. It did have a hand-written note on the can saying this was "sniper ammo", and a price tag of $660 :lmfao:

well there is a special hot load made at a certain factory
    7.62x54r - 152 gr FMJ - "7N1" Sniper - Russian Surplus

a little over 500 at most places

You know, if this "arms trade treaty" that Lurch, sorry john kerry, just signed
with the UN gets ratified surplus ammo will probably dry up within a year.
$500 will seem like a good deal for a can of Mosin ammo.

Yeah, I saw that, I also saw a 525 round box of 22 LR (think it was Federal) for $60 - I did pop for the exact same sealed box at the Tipton GS 3 or 4 weeks ago for $35. Knew it was a little high but ya know.... I told one guy that still had $70 or 80 a brick on 22 LR that it would be a cold day in Hell before I would pay over $35 a brick. Did notice several dealers had fairly decent prices on handguns, they seem to have dropped prices 20 - 30% in the last couple of months. AR's are darn near back to the Pre-panic prices. I feel sure the ammo will follow before too long. Don't really need any so Son and I can wait!

I agree that prices have been moderating of late. However, the only CZ (that I saw) at the Lafayette Gun Show was a used duo tone CZ 85 Combat for >gasp< $800. That's a bit steep.
