I think some states require that you tell the officer that you're armed if you are. I know that's not the case in Indiana because we're not as communist as some other places :) Just don't ask if they want to play 10 paces turn & fire and they won't ask you if you want to play hide the night stick.

Even if an officer doesn't ask if there are weapons in the car, it is always polite to inform them. Makes their job easier.
I really wish people were concerned about making MY job easier! I stand on my feet for ten hours a day in a fabrication shop, and you know, I just wanna go home to my family at the end of the day, I really wish someone would make that extra effort to make my job easier.:(

It's good to see another good interaction with an LEO. For those others that have been stopped while carrying, is it common to have your permit checked, or do most officers just take your word for it?

Just a little bit ago I was pulled over for expired license plates. Somehow I forgot to put the little sticker on the license plate. I had it in the glove box though and did not get a ticket. Anyway, she came to the car and asked for my license and registration. I said "I have a permit and a firearm in the car." She said "Ok, thanks for telling me."

I can't remember her name but I believe it began with a B. She was blonde and couldn't have been nicer. She never asked to see the permit or the gun, probably because she knew that if I were a criminal I would not have told her that I had a gun. I do not get pulled over often, but I believe it is a good practice to point out if you had a good or bad experience with the officer. This was a good one.
Damn. Looks like everyone thought this was an intro into a B-rate porn movie. At least the lady cop acted professionally.

    It's not a permit, it's a license to carry a handgun.

I've been pulled over 7 times, talked my way out of 5 tickets and received 2 with one being out of state in Missouri. My license was never checked because I did not inform them I was carrying.

I'm in sales and I sell gearboxes that cost around $35k each. It would make my job so much easier if you were to just buy 2 or 3. Thanks man, really appreciate how concerned you are with making everyone else's jobs easier. Wish everybody was like you.

I have often wondered what has or hasn't happened in people's lives who are so willing to go out of their way to gain approval from someone with perceived authority over them. I default to insecurity.
