The wife and I always watch "Survivor". They choose people like this (character flaws and or quirks) to generate interest. It would be pretty boring to watch people who work together and always get along. I don't like the "beautiful people" (their own words) this season and enjoy watching their numbers get whittled down. Another thing to remember is that we get to see these people at their worst because they are undergoing some physical hardships. Some of the "survivors" put on an act for the camera and the show is highly edited.
