I want a Glock 34, but I'm not sure if I should get it or a 17. I've read all the specs, but am curious from others. Currently I don't do competition, but could in the future. At the present, this is more of a want of a new range/good handgun kinda thing. What do you think? Also, Gen 3 or Gen 4?

I had the 17 for awhile then switched to the 19 for better conceal carry. Love the 17 though. I'm more fond of the 3rd gen.

I'd go with the G17. I had a G34 once, and I do regret sellin it. But my G17 is a keeper. You can always buy an aftermarket barrel thats is longer and also ported for target/plinkin shootn. Check out the www. lonewolfdist.com site.

The only reason I have a G17 is for use as a suppressor host. If concealment isn't a priority, go directly with the 34. The 34/35 is the best-shooting gun Glock makes, IMO.

I was looking at Lone Wolf. See, I want a good handgun. I recently bought and sold a SD40VE. Good gun, but not a keeper. I had a .38 special when I was young and loved that thing, but I'm more of a shotgun guy. I grew up hunting and hadn't picked up a gun that wasn't a shotgun til probably a year ago. I like Glock, shot a 36 and a 23, I think 23. 40S&W compact... I want a 9mm on this.,

Tough call. If concealing is not an issue then either one will work with the 34 being a little longer slide and barrel. Of course the 34 also has a slot in the top of the slide for weight reduction and has the same frame as the 17.

From what you have mentioned I would say probably the 34 with a 19 later on for carry. Maybe even a 17 instead of the 19 so they could share mags. Tough decision. Easier for me since I already have the 17 and like it. 34 is on my short list of wants.

I currently own a 19, good concealment and 15 rounds in the magazine is great. My wife owns a 26 even smaller and nice on weight. My 19 is not bad but its not as light as the 26. I recommend a 19 if your looking for a 9mm. 17 is nice though just a little bulkier.

+1 on the g19. I have a gen2 that I enjoy shooting quite a bit. I actually prefer the grip over the gen3\gen4 but that's just me. Gonna get some Talon grips for it soon...

I just purchased the 26, its a great carry piece and an awesome shooter. I shot FNS this eve with it and I love it!! I had been shooting Friday Night Steel with my CZ 75, however i dont carry the CZ so I wanted to get some practice with a weapon that i wanna carry. You'll like the 26. G26 in a Blackhawk holster is pretty sweet.

I had a 34 and sold it because I just didn't like it as well as the 17. Got a 17C to go with my 19c and it's my "range" pistol now, no regrets.

I have a Gen4 34 and it is one of my favorite guns to shoot. As stated before, the slide cut-outs make the slide weight the same as the 17 but, for me anyway, the extra length and sight radius makes it easier to shoot well. I use it for a range gun/home defense and carry a 19 or 26. I'm sure I will end up getting a 17 at some point but I really like my 34. Don't you love making tough decisions!
