Been a while since you've been to a "gentlemen's club" I take it?
One wonders why they call it that when it seems unlikely that the typical patron would meet the standard of a gentleman.
The first time I heard this euphemism used was immediately after some pro sports championship game where a bunch of the players had congregated. Don't remember the particulars but when interviewed about it later one of the players got all defensive and used the term.
May not be the origin, just the first time I heard it.
