gi sling for what? ar15? m14,garand?

I don't care what rifle it was originally for. I assume "GI" is a specific style of sling with x loops or whatever.

I'm trying to find one locally. Being new to slings I see no need to buy something expensive.

There were several available the 1500 this weekend. Ranged from $10 to $18 for those in decent shape. In fact, the dealer right across from the Appleseed table had both nylon and authentic cotton ones available. $10 for nylon and $15 for cotton. Picked up a couple of nylon ones to try out.
