If it weren't for the berdan primers, I'd pick up a few rounds. Can't reload the berdan stuff, easily.

    Matt

Correct, this particular stuff uses a .177" diameter berdan primer. RWS #4520 is the correct one to use, but AFAIK, it hasn't been imported into the U.S. since the 1980s. I was hoping that Tula would bring in some Russian Murom primers in this size, but they only did the two cup heights in the .217" diameter. I am very thankful to have gotten some of each of those while they lasted. Murom is currently sanctioned thanks to Putin acting like a bully in Ukraine, so no more can be imported. That's also what happened to all of the other Tula branded primers (Murom was their only supplier). I never used any of the Tula 50 BMG primers, but it sure was nice having them on the market since it forced CCI to keep the prices low on theirs. Pre-panic, I could buy the CCI for 18 cents each if I bought a case, now you are looking at 30 cents each - and no, I do NOT think that people are neckbearding 50 BMG primers. It's just that CCI (or the people distributing their BMG primers) know that they are the only game in town, so the price hasn't come back down like it should have.

10k plus of green tip at Evansville Gander Mountain in 90, 120, 300, and 420 round boxes but the cheapest was .55 cents a round + tax.

I won't pay over .35 a round, but its still cheaper than what I have seen online this week.

    Good luck!

I bet it'll be gone after tomorrow. I do believe Gander Mountain will price match Walmart too.

Aim Surplus is taking pre-orders for delivery in a couple weeks. At 1,000 rounds in an ammo can it is $0.43/round.

Heck, I feel rich. Just opened a package of .22 from Midway and there were 3 loose rounds in the box.

Traildust Surplus on Highway 45 on the SW edge of Bloomington (out toward the airport) has CCI .22LR shotshells in-stock. Price seemed fairly good if you use these specialized loads. They also had Lil-Gun powder which is a shotgun/pistol powder.

Green tip is gonna be just like 22, its all gonna be sky high, to make massive profit. Who cares? Its not especially good ammo, so dont buy into the double priced crap. But so many will, and it will only perpetuate the scare, and keep the prices high. Maybe they dont ban it, maybe they do ban it. Either way, if you didnt buy it already, your screwed.

I've had pretty decent luck with the ZQI 5.56 sold by Walmart for 30rds/$10. I have not cut one open yet but it is spec'd as SS109 which is the steel penetrator, I think. I've shot a couple hundred rounds without any issues. Avon WM had at least a dozen boxes yesterday. I hate that the gov thinks it needs to control this type ammo but I don't see any need to run out and buy all I can get of it. I think standard 55g .223 is plenty effective. If .223 don't get the job done then I'll pull out the .308. If that don't cut it then it's time to break out the SMAW!

Not a bad deal...I put it in my cart and did everything but finalize the sale...I just spent all my ammo money, no more for me for a little while.

You notice how it says bonus 9mm ammunition? What a bunch of crap. If it's bonus then that means it's a $100 box of .22
