Terre Haute's South Wal-Mart has tons of ammo. They have more than they can fit on the shelves and had to stick some up with the firearms.
Also, FreedomMunitions has 250 and 500 round packs of 55 grain 223 with free shipping.

Don't know if it means anything, but MidwayUSA is all of a sudden accepting back orders on CCI Minimags 36 & 40 gr by the 5000 case for 311.99/325.99... Also, they are accepting back orders on the Winchester 555 bulk pack by the case ( 5550 rds/252.99 ) Maybe their high shipping can be justified by some if they have reallly opened up to letting you get these larger quanities...

I was told that Fairmount Hardware is getting in a load of PMC X-Tac in 55 grain this week for 379.00 out the door. That is the 5.56 round in FMJ bullet.

If you look, it says expected date of 9/24 or something like that. So they're already showing their orders are 45 to 60 days overdue from their distributor.

They'll also sometimes keep extending back orders indefinitely (like with Krinkov FSBs, which has been slipping every month for over a year now).

That's not to say you shouldn't backorder the ammo if you want it. I'm sure it will get filled sooner or later. Just make sure the credit card you use will be valid for a while and that you take into account that a $300+ charge could show up at any time.

If you look even closer the backorder date is 9/24/............2014. Good luck with that!
