General AK-47 / or other semi-auto rifle first time buying advice

I wanted another AK-47 few years back but the underfolder one. However, with all the ARs I had, I decided to build and have the best of both worlds. I have an AR-47 and it shoots great and uses 7.62x39s. Still...I would like to have another one since I sold the Norinco and Maadi (with those thumbholes) decades ago. Now I have the .357/.38 lever action rifle itch and it's a big'un!
