Yeah, I started laughing on the OP. As much as I used to have to switch bases, I never caught that one. A friend and I did find that (0x)7BC comes 14 (years implied) after (0x)7AD, kind of ironic.

I think this is giving it away for everyone else :dunno:

Pfft. If you were a geek, you would have immediately recognized the answer without having the check source.

    :):

I'd like to point out that, at this time, I still have not seen the image referenced in the OP. I was just following on Cathy's seemingly random, though associated, post about different numbers and their bases.

Duly noted and I have listed the exception in the logs. Carry on.

You think so? If someone doesn't get the OP, I don't think they'll even get the other. :)

    But, I'll edit. No worries.

ETA: Does a DOS reference help with the geek factor? :)

DOS 3.3. They put commas in the numbers to help decipher kilobytes from megabytes. Is THAT geeky enough?

And another question - When does one million = 1,048,576??

I'm so old I remember when computers were made of WOOD! Wooden monitors, wooden floppy drives, wooden keyboards. Only problem was, they WOODEN work!

    :)

Are there a lot of coders or former coders on the board?
