    Ammo at GM

Yep, I was at the Castleton GM at 2 p.m. this afternoon and they all sorts of ammo in great bulk like I have not seen since the great panic started. Even some "reasonable" prices on bulk ammo. 9mm, .45 ACP. .223 and even tons of .22 LR available. Really could not believe my eyes.

Just left the Lafayette store. 350 round 9mm Blazer packs for $130. Too high. No .22LR. No Rio shotgun shells. Everything else was priced way too high for me. Sorry, but I won't pay $65 for 100 rounds of .45 auto.

They did have a discount on Duck Dynasty T-shirts though!

    Glad I reload...

Just came back from the Indy South Gander Mountain here are some prices and some calibers I saw they had in stock as of 18:45

-.45 Auto fmj, Blazer Brass box of 200 for $129.99
-.45 Auto fmj, Blazer Brass box of 50 for $29.99
-.40 Auto fmj, Blazer Brass box of 200 for (I don't remember.)
-9mm fmj, Blazer Brazz box of 350 for $119.99 (These are on one of the wooden tables near the shotgun shells.)
-.22LR CCI box of 50 for $3.99 (There was a guy grabbing all of these that he could as I was leaving and there were only 40-30 boxes left on the shelf.)

They had .223 and 5.56 in bulk packs (200+) but it wasn't less than $0.50 /round. I don't remember the exact price. Good luck.

Can't vouch for the prices - but I received Emails from three (3) GM stores today! Castleton, Greenwood and Lafayette. First time I ever had received anything from anyone but Lafayette. Sale runs Friday, Sat and Sun. Doubt I will attend.

    Also Magtech 9mm bulk "Shooter's Pack" -- 450 rds $139

I asked if they will stagger the supply across 3 days since Castleton was already out of the 1600 rd buckets of .22lr. I was told they will put more out each day, but will most likely be gone very early each day.

That's interesting. Lafayette had the same item on their wood table, but were asking $129.99. I even asked them to make sure.

Good price, very unlike Gander. I was in there over the weekend and they had a ton of ammo on the shelves and there is a reason, it's over priced. Of course all the LGS's i've been to this last week are getting a lot of it in too but same thing, prices are too high.

its a mediocre price, but good for GM. They had the exact same ammo last year for $200/1000 on black friday.

A friend called me at 11:36 and said GM in Castleton had at least 25 "buckets" of Remington 1400 count .22 long rifle. I couldn't get there until about 2:30. All gone - not a sniff ! I asked one of the worker bees if there would be any more put out. He said he didn't think so. I mentioned something to the check out clerk about no .22's and she said they might put out more tomorrow a.m.

So . . . . my .22 LR drought continues. I haven't made a purchase of .22's for approx a year. With a full time day job I can't get to Walmart when the .22's are put out. Apparently the same is now true for GM. This makes me think there are still a number of folks hoarding . . . . by some definition or another. Hoarding, I guess, could be a stockpile of 1,000 rounds or 10,000 rounds. Depends on how many rounds are being shot a year. I believe if you've got more that a "couple of years" supply and you're still buying - you're a hoader.

    End of rant.

In Lafayette, they had a TON of ammo last weekend. I had a local gun store tell me that 9mm was no where to be found and walked in and found at least 5k rounds with no limits on quantities.

I would not consider 1000 to 10000 rounds of 22 hoarding, for a shooter.

Before the ammo drought, I'd buy 22 when I found it at a good price, regardless of how much I had.

But I get what you are saying, if you are buying more than you will ever shoot, then you're hoarding or flipping, depending on what you are doing with it.

Was that the Plastic ammo can tub? The 119.99 box I saw was just the cardboard box with the black and gold blazer brass logo. They had the 129.99 plastic ammo cans as well. Either way it does seem like the stores don't have the same prices if the quotes below are true.

...9mm I could find was 350rnd packs of Blazer Brass for $109, or in a plastic ammo can for $119.

    ...350 round 9mm Blazer packs for $130....

The .22 ammo was the only thing that I thought was reasonably priced for ammo. The rest you could find better prices online.

For those interested, they are also having a sale on Mosin 91/30s for $129 (139 after tax). They have a boat load of them too and they are in pretty good shape. Rifling seemed in excellent shape, but I'm not a Mosin expert either.

It was the green plastic can. But even at $119.99 that is still kinda high for 9 mm. That's over $17 a box before tax.
