Eggs and salsa is fine... eggs with ketchup is also very fine.
If I just have plain eggs with nothing else to go with it, it gets ketchup.

Yep, I know what souse is. My dad stripped many a hog's head on our kitchen counters. I helped blend and wrap a few dozen batches of souse meat.

Bologna is sounding like a delicacy right now. LOL!

Yes, I too came from farm stock. Souse was a delicacy among the elders and made the kids (me) run and hide.

Ever had cheek meat stew ????

Probably but under a different moniker. We didn't waste anything. We've still got the farm but it's just used mostly for hunting now. All the livestock is gone, farm implements sold off, we sold off a bunch of quality hardwood, mineral rights, and natural gas rights.
Good hunting, quality water abundant, and good land. I don't miss farming though. Me and scratchin' dirt didn't get along so well.

The farm my family had is now a subdivision and industrial park. I miss it terribly. Not the ball breaking work but just being able to use the land.

There were Ferrel hog to hunt. Ground hog and squirrel. Family hunted deer there but I was not much of a deer hunter.

Times do change and not always for the better.

Cheek meat stew was all the cheek muscle from a cows head. There is really a lot on the head if you take the time to get it. Properly done up in a stew it ain't to bad but doubt that will pass muster with the wife....ever.

My dad is German, mom is Cherrokee Indian. So we have eaten some really strange dinners at my house. And yes, if I ever find a cowboy named Hop-a-Long Bernstien, he's in deep sh$t!!
