The "New American Revolution" has already started and has gained the high ground. No, it is not a revolution carried out by armed soldiers, it is a different kind of soldier. Liberty loving Americans that know what a constitutional republic is have neglected the fire. The new revolution has all but buried the Constitution of the United States and has slowly but surely turned americans to collectivism, socialism, hope and change. The new revolution's soldiers wear suits and ties and pass unconstitutional laws selling their votes. The new revolution's soldiers print their lies as truth for the people. The new revolution's soldiers control the media, the schools and the people for the most part. The new revolution's soldiers are closer than ever to making 'The land of the free and the home of the brave' into the land of the subservient and the home of the dependant.

Time to wake, liberty loving Americans, the revolution is happening!

While eloquent Appleseed directors' words might make some feel good, Appleseed is not even close to being the answer, as he erroneously says.

I don't think Appleseed is THE answer, but it helps educate. Historically and in a more training sense.

ALL components of the 2A have to come together and make a stand. Appleseed, training institutes like Front Sight, the Second Amendment March, NRA, GOA, JFPO, Second Amendment Patriots, Pink Pistols, Hunters, Shooters, Gun Owners large and small.... All of us have to put aside our petty differences and stand together. There has to be some kind unity. Something to bring us all together.

The hardest part is, and always has been, convincing people to get up and do something.

Millions converged on D.C. for a common cause this year. Why can't Gun Owners do the same thing? What's preventing us from standing up for our rights?

Allow me to offer this as a way to get off the couch. It's not an Appleseed, although that is a GREAT idea. I hope to attend one one day.

I know many of you have heard about the Second Amendment March on Washington coming up Spring of next year. However, there will also be State Marches for those of us who can't make D.C.

    April 19, 2010

Mark that date. That may be one of the most important dates of the decade. You can find more information on this event and the people behind it below.

    Second Amendment March

I will most definitely be there!!! Thanks for the heads up SE.

    henktermaat,

I think you need to re-read the original post a little more closely and consider what is being said. First these were comments from an Instructor not a Director and he was addressing a discussion among participants at a shoot.

If we can not peacefully resolve differences in our country then we have failed as stewards of the greatest legacy ever afforded a people on this planet. The Revolutionary War ended 226 years ago but it was the Founders intent that the American Revolution never end. It is incumbent on the Citizens of this Republic to be active in it's governance, this is the Responsibility that comes with the Rights we enjoy. Of late, more folks seem to concentrate on 'rights' and less on 'responsibilities'.

Appleseed's main mission is to educate folks as to their legacy, what it cost (in blood) and maybe to think about our posterity as much as these people did 2+ centuries ago. I pointed out to some folks at the Riley shoot a few weeks ago that they no longer had the luxury of ignorance. If you do not know your heritage, you can plausibly plead ignorance. Once you have heard what these men, women and yes, children, went through on 4/19/1775 then you have to make a choice. Do you roll back over on the couch for the new season of American Idle, or do you pick up the tools that you have been handed and get to work?

Now, is Appleseed 'the' answer. No it isn't, but it is 'an' answer. At an Appleseed we will never tell you what to do, that is your decision, but I will look you in the eye and ask you to do something - run for office, take part in your local city/county council meetings, something. Like Savage Eagle said, everyone needs to pitch in on this, all of the 2A groups, Scouts, Rotary, Kiwanis, the TEA Party folks, everyone gets in on this party.

We spent decades getting into the situation we are in and I anticipate it will take decades to make a change. This will not get wrapped up in 30 minutes with three commercial breaks and a happy ending.

p.s. Try this on for size, in the 2008 general election in Indiana for state representative and senator, 25 of 100 House and 8 of 25 Senate seats were unopposed. Folks, all they did to win was show up...
