    Greetings,

    Anyone shooting the FNX-9?
Some background; I am looking for my first handgun. Went to the local gun shopsfor a touch and feel of what is available. I really like the way the FNX fitsin my big hand.

I also went to the Kodiak range in So. Bend, (great place), and shot the XD,Glock 17, Beretta 92 and a couple of others. They did not have a FN, bummed.

So I was looking for some feedback.
    Thanks,
    MrBlue

I had an FNP9 which is barely discernible from the FNX, IMO. It is a fantastic pistol. Definitely has one of the best factory triggers out there. Why do I not still have it? I decided to only carry no thumb safety pistols; nothing wrong with them, just a personal choice.

I've shot the 40 cal version and found it pretty pleasant. I follow the same line of thinking as greyhound47 in that I don't carry a handgun with a thumb safety, but it was very nce other than that..

I own a FNP9 and really love it. Or I should say I did love it until I shot a FNX40. Both the FNP and FNX are outstanding guns IMHO. But I like the FNX just a bit better for two reasons. First I like the smaller decocker on the FNX, not a big deal but a plus as it is smaller.

Now I love my FNP but the FNX frame was changed slightly so that the barrel sets closer to the grip. This is supposed to help with recoil and reduce muzzle rise. I didn't notice a ton of difference but it did feel better to shoot.

For me both are excellent guns and I'm surprised they haven't become more popular. I would not trade my FNP for a FNX becuase I have invested too much in magazines (I have 8) and the mags are not interchangeable but in time I will get a FNX.

I own an FNP-9, and it is an amazing high quality firearm. I have herd it called an "affordable Sig Sauer" and I could not agree more. I think it shoots just as good as my Sig.

You realize that the FNP does not have a thumb safety, it was a decocker. Unless you had the USG model. Which had a safety/decocker.

I have fired a couple, and prefer my FNP9. I do not like how the back straps attached to the frame. The ones I fired, the back straps had play in them. Second, the mags had to be inserted at just the right angle, or they would not seat. Maybe they fixed said issues. I also like the trigger on the FNP more so, the trigger on the FNX seems heavier to me.

    UPDATE
I have the FNX-9 on order with the LGS. Hoping it shows up today. That would make a nice Christmas present.
Thanks for the feedback, can't wait to shot it!
