    Why this was filed I still cannot understand.

    Business disputes should be civil, not criminal. The cops have enough to do without taking sides in a contractual dispute.

    Oh, I just thought it meant that they could not prove he was guilty.

    Sometimes a contract is a contract. Sometimes a contract is made strictly with intent to defraud.

    Do you think that the State should not step in on home improvement fraud even if the contractor never does any work at any location? It was rampant before it was criminalized.

    Then why does LE perform raids for unpaid Sallie Mae loans? They are not a government agency.

    I guess the question would be when does civil fraud cross the line to criminal fraud? The story said 1% or less of orders were in question, the guy proved that he completed a lot of transactions. To me, criminal fraud would be when there was never ever a product going to be delivered, or what was delivered was in no way what was advertised.
