At least we know where this republican stands on the 2nd Amendment. When a Florida sheriff refused to charge a man for carrying without the states permission the governor sicced his state police on the sheriff and had him arrested and put one of his own flunkies in the sheriff's position. Way to go, Mr. Scott. You've shown your true colours.

Wow. Why would a governor get involved in a local misdemeanor case? There might be a back story to this (besides Rick Scott being a complete dope). Maybe an old beef?

We'll happily take him as sheriff of Allen County and get rid of the anti-second amendment sheriff we have now, ken fries. The mayor says Ft. Wayne is not a dangerous place and the sheriff supports gun control. It sucks that Indy and the Fort are havens for America hating liberal democRATS.

The Libertarian Party of Florida also criticized Governor Scott for the scandal saying Sheriff Finch’s arrest may be the opening shot in a battle between the politicians who infringe on the Second Amendment, and the law enforcement officers who are determined to uphold their oath to protect the Constitution.
It is an opening shot. Even Andy Cuomo hasn't pulled this in NYS.

And it's a Republican governor to boot...

I'm sorry, but where in the hell did you hear that our sheriff is anti second amendment!? Are you mistaking the sheriff for our police chief?? The sheriff is far from an anti....

Wouldn't surprise me if there had already been comments and they've been scrubbed by the pages admins. It's pretty much SOP.

That's the only reason he posted the damn article. Had someone else posted it and commented that the Guv were Dem, he'd be the first to question the relevance of the party affiliation.

No, I wouldn't, so you can unbunch your panties. I expect behaviour like this from a dem. We're constantly told that we can expect better from republicans, now we see that we can't.

    1. The Sheriff does not decide who is prosecuted and who is not prosecuted.

    2. By what provision of Florida law does the Gov. get to arrest a Sheriff? Who elected the Gov. State's Attorney?:dunno:

None of this is making any sense.

Looks like the official misconduct was related to the fact that after the gun owner was released, the arrest record was destroyed as well.

Well, since he wasn't arrested yet (supposedly) how was that possible? The clerk did white-out the booking log entry because he hadn't been processed.

Actually on point one the Sheriff can decide who gets prosecuted, if he does not arrest someone for violating a law he disagrees with it might be difficult for the law breaker to be prosecuted :dunno:

Bad show. Tippecanoe County tried that once and someone in the Prosecuting Attorney's Office got eight (8) years in prison.:D

Ken . . anti 2nd. amendment? I am not sure where you get your information from but it is not correct. Now Fort Waynes Mayor and Chief of the FWPD are total pieces of crap.
