You can bet the "shooter" will know it's there, walk in the door and shoot the teacher immediately, and everyone will proclaim "SEE? HAVING A GUN IS POINTLESS!"

Exactly. How about a drill where the teachers get to shoot the bad guy before he has a chance to turn it into a tragic triage response? Or a drill to practice taking down the worthless "gun free zone" signs?

you're probably right, but I would like it to be a "surprise" as to who has a gun, if they tell him at all. A real criminal isn't going to know

That wasn't a school shooting drill. It was a biological material cleanup.

My drill:
Let every adult in the school decide for themselves if they will carry an airsoft gun on "drill day".

See how far the "bad guy" gets before he has too many welts/bruises to continue.

It's funny, as you read this you get the sense that the people involved with this drill actually think they are doing something important. So the responders and teachers will have extra experience with treating gunshot wounds...woopty doo.

Do you honestly believe the NEA and state teachers associations would not take punitive action against teachers carrying firearms if they become more than a tiny minority?
The progressive credo is that no individual can make any difference; any who try will be ostracized and denied all support.
See if the NEA doesn't file a friend of the court brief in support of the school shooter if that shooter is shot by a teacher.
