Anyone else fix a door hinge on their truck with a 2x4 and a jack? My door pins and bushings are new. My hinges are well worn and I don't have the tools to cut out the welded hinges and reweld them. So I took a jack and bent the hinges enough so the door latched again. Works good. :D

Necessity is the mother of invention. I had a Dodge Dart station wagon in which the hood hinges had rusted out. Welded barn door hinges on it, worked like a charm. Also fixed the linkage on a four speed with a bicycle kickstand and some hose clamps. Maguyver's got nothing on me.

I had an old phone company van with a three speed, floor shifter.
The shifter broke off, so I cut a hole in the floor, and attached two 1x2's to the transmission.
Push in the clutch, pull up 1x2 #1 and go. Push in clutch, push #1 down, and pull up 1x2#2, and go,.... Etc. worked great!
No one else could drive it. So I got a free anti-theft device too!:D

I wish I had a nickel for every pin and bushing I've changed and then had to adjust that way. If you move the striker down, the door will not fit right in the opening and then the gaps and body lines will be off. I'm guessing your truck is a GM product?

Couldnt you have just loosened the door pin that is latches on and lower it just a bit?

No, the alignment of the door to the body would be out and allow the door to hit the back door or body and still be a problem. Just the way it is with Blazers. I know because I tow a bunch of them!

Wrapping a 2X4 with a towel to tighten it up in the gap.....pushing the door against the strategically located wrapped 2X4 until the door is aligned in the jamb again....priceless.
