No real talk about fishing this year. I know we had flood waters and mosquitos of mass proportions.
I managed to get out last week. Caught some pike and bass on the K3. Hope to get out more this fall and find a decent ice hole this winter to dip my pole in.
I've hit the White a few times this year. Caught quite a few smallies, and recorded my first cat on the fly (a fly I personally tied to boot). Hopefully, I'll have some good news to report after the weekend, as I'm headed up north to fish for some Kings.
This spring sucked. The creeks were blown out and when they settled down, most of the structure was washed out. Never could locate any good smallies in my usual spots. Went a few times and caught a few, nothing worth pulling out the camera or fillet knife.
Going to Michigan the first week of November to centerpin and swing streamers for steelhead, I'll bring this thread back from the dead when I get back.
I go fishing almost every day. Most of the time is spent on the white river. I've pulled quite a few decent snakes out of there on a regular basis. That is until about 2 months ago when my spots dried up. Now I'm hunting for new ones. I caught a bunch of nice ones when the river was flooded too.
Caught this one June 13th of this year. You can see how flooded the river is. That's at 96th street.
Spent the day on the Tippy with my brother yesterday, from Oakdale to 18. He got one Smallie 18". I got one 17" and one 12" walleye. He caught a 4-5# Channel Cat on a yellow Sparkle-tail. I also caught several sunfish and about 10 12" Smallies for the day. Water was a little low. Weather was great. Most of my fish were caught on 3/8 oz natural looking Rebel Craw.
That river winds around so much that I lost track of where we were. It started getting late and we had to blow by about the last 2 miles of river. That last part looked like it has some good holes too.
