Anyone else eating their own tomatoes yet? Picked my first today!
It's my first year at this location. It's been a lot of work to get things to grow without the past year's compost.I love home grown tomatoes, fried green, just as a snack, accoutrement for sandwiches, hot pepper tomato sandwich, salsa, salads etc. but since I've moved, my mater's have sucked. This is the worst soil imaginable (pure clay) and I'm working on creating a suitable soil mixture capable of sustaining some decent Indiana home grown tomatoes. So enjoy them while you can
Never tried it.Well I always end up frying up the green ones before they ripe
