I agree with most of the above posts, shoot it a lot and get a ton of ammo! never hurts to have a stockpile. and lastly on the grips if you shoot it and it is fun I suggest leaving them, but if it doesn't fit you Id go with the Sarge's grips.

Reload for it and find the perfect recipe. Then find a match and run it. After you shoot it, PLEASE do not post, "It's more accurate than me..." LOL!

Sounds like you got plenty of grip information so I will suggest some good, high quality magazines as your next expense. Mot mags that come new with a gun are not the highest quality. And while they may function fine at first they will likely need new sprngs before too long. Buy Wilson Combat and don't look back.

Buy another one! you already opened that can of worms. Now they are very addictive, trust me one will not be enough. Shoot it and enjoy it but it will need a companion.:): Just noticed I have that same gun It's one of my favorite 1911s.

    As everyone has stated....SHOOT IT

Live with it...love it....as I have stated elsewhere, I EDC in OC/CC all day, target shoot, steel shoot, bowling pins, compete USPSA/IDPA....whatever it is, I do with my same 1911 Government Model .45

I have been shooting a 1911 since 1980...it has served me well

Spend money on good magazines and ammo..and SHOOT IT!
