well after a couple month wait they are finally here. i can't recommend this company enough. i spoke with both dan and lt and they are great to work with and will make you exactly what you want how you want and for a extremely reasonable price. i can't stop playing with them. i had them make the set up for ultimate hunting/camping/bushcrafting. the bushcrafter for big tasks like splitting pelvic bones, battoning wood, cutting large stuff, skinning ect. i bought the patch knife to to do intricate work on the animals and small cutting cooking tasks at camp. i think this set up will be perfect and so far i can't put it down.. a brief description i suppose

first is a blind horse bushcrafter
i chose 01 steel satin finish for ease of up keep in the field with a roughed up black micarta to give me the extra grippy feeling and then had them add some spine file work for chocking up on it and had them get a JRE custom piggy back sheath. (ps i can't put these knives down the fit the hand perfectly)

    and on to the porn

    both in the sheath

i got to say after playing with these things all weekend i love them even more. the bushcrafter baton's, cuts, slices, throws sparks from the fire steel extremely well. it also holds its edge very well after all the abuse from this weekend it can still shave.

the patch knife is perfect for small chores around the house and around camp. its perfect size for the intricate work. it cuts, slices, and throws sparks from the steel well also and has great edge retention.

i like the bead blasted finish and its staying pretty scratch resistant. i love the micarta handles as when you start to sweat or your hands get wet or bloody they just grip more and more so they are perfect for dressing game and from my abuse around the woods with them i would also say great camp knives

here is it making some small feathersticks to see how well it would throw sparks

on a fire steel you need a scraper of sort to run along the ferro rods which creates sparks to start fires with. if you don't have a old hacksaw blade or something along those lines you use the spine of the knife. the only problem is a lot of knife spines won't throw the sparks because they aren't squared i think it the right word. the spine kinda needs to be at a 90 deg angle to catch on the rods. the spine on this knife is perfect and throws a shower of sparks on the tinder.

Sorry to hear about your horse. Did it get kicked by a mule? If so you might try dropping it down a well and check to see if it can see again.....
    Nice knives!
