Shxt. Thursday evening I went out for a quick sight/trigger check, and thoughtlessly jammed rounds into a pmag till it stopped taking them. Guess I'll be checking mags, too.
Out****ingstanding.
Most people fail to realize that mags are a consumable item.
They have a shorter service life than the weapon itself, and also require maintenance.
This goes even for unit armorers in some cases.
I've had to go as far as have my wife mail me some of my personal mags while in Iraq to square away the soldiers in my section of a unit I was attached to. (an NCOs work is never done)
I'm a 28 round per mag guy. Yes, I realize I'm giving up two rounds, but oh well.
I use mostly Pmags but I do have a few GI mags and dozen or so Hex mags in the rotation. I like consistency across all of them and have found 28 rounds makes loading the gun consistent and easy no matter what brand it is.
