Go over to democratic underground and witness the meltdowns being had. I remember when calling a democrat a communist was really just a slur, a way to end a conversation. But they really are communists. They don't even hide it now.

Geraldo was just on singing Fidel's praises. He admitted to some excesses but said the poor in Cuba still support him. Of course that is how socialism works. They destroy the middle class and the rich (except for the chosen few) so that the poor don't feel any jealousy.

Twitter is awash with crap about Castro being no worse or even better than Ronald Reagan.

Lots of "Castro outlived the American democracy" nonsense.

The revolutionaries enrich themselves by destroying the middle class and the un-chosen few. "We control all the money now and you will be dependent on us"

Another third world tin can dictator gone to dust. Big media can laud his accomplishments, but he's just another minor cold war artifact, gone like a part of the Berlin Wall. Meanwhile in dc, the trans caribbean trade deal will have to wait a few more years before supplying cheerful communists with more American jobs.

But what has he really accomplished? He brought a small nation that had the 5th highest per-capita income, where some were in poverty, to a nation where everyone is in poverty. Well, except the ruling class. **** him and **** the communists kissing his dead ass.

I told the wife this morning before I left for the shop...She began to cry tears of joy...Got very emotional...Her Godmother fled Cuba in 1960 and my wife got to grow up hearing REAL stories about the "Revolution"....Like how Carmita's family lost everything they had and sent Carmita and her brother out with just a suitcase each to Miami....

Thankfully we still have north korea as a shining example of communist success. Venezuela is patterned on Cuba (after all Chavez and Fidel were buds) and just look at what socialism has brought to that country. Oh wait!!

Obama won't go, he was not a head of state anymore. But I wouldn't be surprised if Biden or Kerry show up and may all 3 rot in hell.

They make exceptions to things like this. I wouldnt be surprised if he goes and bows submissively to a few more world leaders one more time before he leaves office.

Hell, I wouldnt put it past him to go even if it was January 20.

I bet there is an uptick in the Che shirt sales...

    Yeah, eff him too.

Regardless of anyone's opinion of Castro, he did, by sheer force of his will successfully challenge, and repeatedly embarrass, the most powerful nation on the planet, and almost was responsible for the extermination of the species. A guy from a poor island nation 90 miles off the coast of the United States. He's was an evil dictator, murderer, despot...and certainly one of most important figures of the 20th Century.

Castro wasn't the main instigator of the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was JFK. He tried to eliminate Castro multiple times, and put missiles in Turkey. Castro and Che wanted protection from us, and the USSR wanted to put missiles in Cuba because of our missiles in Turkey.

If not for our missiles in Turkey, directly threatening the USSR, AND our multiple attempts to kill Castro it wouldn't have happened. Everyone talks about how well Kennedy handled it, but nobody remembers HE STARTED IT.
